As part of the Asian Games 2018, South Sumatera will operate their own TIC. The facility is aimed to inform visitors about tourism destinations and culinary heritage of the province.
Head of Tourism and Culture in South Sumatera, Irene Camelyn Sinaga, stated in Palembang, Tuesday (31/10), that the TIC project will be collaboration between local government and Indonesia Tourism Ministry.
The vision, all visitors to the province will enjoy convenience in accessing their desired destinations, including the local culinary spots. The development of TIC will be on the hand of third party, as the ministry is making cooperation with sponsors for the project.
The TIC in South Sumatera will be built in three places: Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, Kuto Besak Fort, and Jakabaring Palembang Sports Center. The TIC in Jakabaring will be non-permanent or moving, in line with the nature of the place.
According to Sinaga, TIC is one element of tourism marketing that will make a place to be known. Visiors will enjoy the convenience to reach the places they want, and learn about the things needed for the trip.
